What Makes MOMus Different?

I like to look at art, but some of the modern art pieces I see just leave me feeling confused. I don’t know if it’s the way it’s supposed to make me feel or if I’m just not getting it, but a lot of the time I just don’t understand what I’m seeing… but that is where the magic happens I think.

MOMus is a museum of contemporary art that has been open since 1978 in one way or another. it was the desire of a group of creatives to make this unique location.

MOMus shows the diversity of contemporary art by presenting the works of artists from around the world. It also strives to make contemporary art more accessible for everyone by hosting workshops for children and giving guided tours for people with disabilities. And MOMus does this while also engaging in dialogue with other artistic disciplines.

A new way of seeing contemporary art is possible at MOMus! If you are interested in visiting this museum to see what it has to offer, please visit their website at https://www.momus.gr/en/momus/contemporary

Why It’s Important for Contemporary Art to Be Accessible

What is the role of a museum? Should it be to collect and preserve, or should it be to show and explain?

It’s worth noting that museums devised as temples of knowledge and religion have historically been tasked with both collecting and preserving works of art, as well as examining them. Whether this task is still required today is less clear.

MOMus has been striving to become a contemporary museum with a wide audience, not only for those who are specifically interested in contemporary art. It has been an important mission from the very beginning to show contemporary art in a new way: through its diversity, through its accessibility, and through its open dialogue with other artistic disciplines. For example, MOMus sponsors workshops for children on Saturdays where they learn about drawing or sculpture by themselves or with the help of an expert. In this way, MOMus created a model that helps connect art to society.

When it comes to modern art, there are two very different schools of thought. There are those who believe that modern art is nothing more than lazy art, simply a way for artists to get out of having to put in any real effort. And then there are those who believe that modern art is far out art, an entirely new way of looking at the world and creating art. So which is it? Is modern art just lazy art, or is it farout art? The answer, of course, is that it depends on your perspective. SO, wwhat is yours?

Cheers, and thank you for visiting today. 🙂
