Design and build quality of the JOBY GorillaPod SLR Zoom :

The Joby GorillaPod SLR Zoom seems like an octopus with three plastic and rubber legs. You can wrap it around anything you find in the field. There are nine joints in each leg that can be twisted and wrapped around anything you find. Joby has equipped this GorillaPod with the rubberized foot at the end of each leg to offer perfect stability when this pod is standing on the ground. There are rubber rings that play a crucial role in keeping it stable when wrapped around an object.

Tripod head:

The camera mounting plate features a ¼” tripod screw and there is an adapter that turns it into a 3/8” screw for the pros. You can use these screws to attach your camera straight to that SLR-Zoom. It works great with other tripods and makes it much easier to use when you are in a hurry.

This brand is also providing its ball head which you can buy separately if you want to use it with Joby’s SLR-zoom. The ball is easy to fix and moves freely with just a twist a knob. The quick-release clip although it seems a bit cheap because Joby could have made it much better.

Many professional photographers have tested their capabilities in all different positions and they agree that it can work great with any high-quality camera. You can set it like a normal tripod or twist those rubber and plastic joints to wrap it around an object. One thing is sure that it will help you in producing more impressive photographs.
